DHI, which consists of the initials of the words Direct Hair Implantation, means direct hair transplantation. An implanter pen called Choi is used in this hair transplant method. Thanks to this device, the hair follicles collected one by one are automatically placed in the area to be planted. In this method, the donor hair follicles taken with the help of the surgical pen, whose thickness varies between 0.6 and 1 mm, can be transferred directly to the planned area without the need for micro-channel opening after being subjected to the cleaning process. This process, which is carried out in two stages in other hair transplantation methods, takes place in a single stage in the DHI technique. For this reason, it is called direct hair transplantation.
How is DHI Hair Transplant done?
DHI hair transplantation starts with the collection of hair follicles in the donor area by loosening them with a special medical device. At this stage, the donor roots are collected one by one.
The second step of the process is the separation of the donor hair follicles taken. Because there is a piece of tissue and hair follicle in the hair follicles taken from the donor area. Then the hair follicles are classified.
In the DHI hair transplant method, the area and angle of the transplant are determined in order for the result to be in the most natural state.
In the hair transplantation phase, the collected hair follicles are placed one by one into the implanter pen. Afterwards, the transplantation process is started with the pen tips suitable for the thickness structure of the hair follicle.
In the DHI technique, no incision is required to transplant hair follicles. Instead, round sockets are created in the skin and hair follicles taken from the donor area are placed in these sockets. After the hair follicles are placed, the scalp enters a rapid recovery period.
Differences Between FUE and DHI
FUE hr with DHI. The first difference between cultivation methods is that the DHI method is applied for longer periods. Generally, 6 hours is sufficient for the completion of the procedure in the FUE technique, while in the DHI technique, patients need to allocate 2 days and six hours for this procedure.
In the DHI technique, hair follicles are transplanted in just a few minutes after they are taken. In this case, it ensures that the hair follicles are healthier and not damaged.
With the DHI technique, it is more comfortable to plant in areas where the hair is not completely shed compared to the FUE technique. In addition, hair transplantation can be done more frequently in the DHI technique than in the FUE technique.
